ABOUT DR. DIXON

Becoming a facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon was a natural decision for me; I experienced firsthand the difference it makes in your life to have a skilled surgeon repair functional and cosmetic problems in the face and neck. After medical school, I came to Chicago to study otolaryngology (ear, nose, and throat medicine) because I wanted to master the anatomy of the head and neck. I went on to complete an advanced fellowship in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery and started practicing in Chicago. I was thrilled to open my private practice a few years ago, and I couldn’t be happier with the work I do every day.

My patients know that I really care about them and getting the best results for their individual needs. I don’t focus on getting a large number of patients; I’d rather be able to give every patient a lot of time and personal attention, from the detailed consultation to the procedure and follow up. This care extends to my commitment to only using safe and naturally derived products at my practice. I do not use chemical or plastic “fillers” or other unproven products that can cause reactions in patients’ skin and body, and my patients really value that.

It’s an exciting time to be a facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon. There are effective, safe new technologies and techniques that involve very little risk and quick recovery time. People who want to smooth and reduce the contour of their neck used to need surgery; now I use a combination of ultrasound and natural filler materials to create the results of a neck lift with less than 24 hours downtime. People don’t have to live with breathing poorly through their nose. I can do a 45-minute procedure that corrects a lot of nasal breathing problems, or combine that with rhinoplasty to achieve great functional and cosmetic results at the same time.

Whether it’s smoothing frown lines or reconstructing someone’s face after an accident, I get a lot of satisfaction from helping people look their best so they feel confident in day-to-day life.
